Serve Legal is pleased to announce the launch of Performance Intelligence, a significant enhancement to its audit and mystery shopping offering that reflects the company's continued investment in data, technology and operational insight.
Following a successful development programme and trial period with clients across the retail and hospitality sectors, Performance Intelligence is now a core component of the Serve Legal service, enabling clients to derive greater value from the audit and mystery shopping data they already receive.
For more than two decades, Serve Legal has helped organisations understand what is really happening across their operations through independent audits and mystery shopping programmes. By providing an accurate picture of day to day customer and staff interactions, businesses have strengthened age verification, customer safety and allergen compliance, reduced operational risk and driven continuous improvements in performance.
Performance Intelligence builds on that foundation by transforming audit data into a richer level of operational insight.
Traditional audit reporting provides an accurate snapshot of performance at a single location on a single day. While valuable, individual reports rarely reveal whether a result is part of a wider trend, how one location compares with the rest of the estate or where performance is beginning to deteriorate over time.
As a result, store managers, regional teams and senior leaders are often left to piece together information from multiple reports and spreadsheets before they can identify where action is needed. Performance Intelligence is the tool that changes that.
By combining trusted audit data with advanced analysis, predictive insight and intelligent reporting, Performance Intelligence turns monitoring and audit data into concise, contextual and actionable insight. Using AI where it adds genuine value, the platform rapidly analyses large volumes of audit data to identify patterns, surface emerging risks and highlight operational trends that would be difficult and time-consuming to detect manually. Rather than simply reporting what has happened, it provides organisations with a prioritised view of where attention will have the greatest operational impact.
This represents a new level of insight and reporting that transforms audit data into far more than a number on a dashboard.
Performance Intelligence has been designed to ensure that the right information reaches the right people.
Store teams receive practical insight that supports continuous improvement and highlights recurring issues requiring attention. Regional managers gain visibility of the locations that require immediate support, allowing them to prioritise time and resources where they will have the greatest impact. Executive teams receive a concise overview of estate wide performance, emerging trends and operational risk, helping to connect operational performance with strategic decision making.
By tailoring reporting to each level of an organisation, Performance Intelligence reduces unnecessary administration and ensures insight leads directly to action.
Performance Intelligence has been developed to help organisations achieve better operational outcomes by enabling them to identify issues sooner and act more effectively.
Clients can expect to benefit from:
Performance Intelligence has been developed in partnership with clients to ensure it delivers meaningful operational value in real world environments. During the design process, Serve Legal worked closely with a number of design partners to test and refine the capability before launch.
One three month trial delivered particularly encouraging results. Between March and June 2026, a client improved its age verification pass rate from 85 per cent to 89.2 per cent, representing an estimated 28 per cent reduction in operational risk, while every store within the programme moved out of the high risk category.
These results demonstrate the value of providing organisations with timely, prioritised insight that enables action to be taken sooner and improvement to be measured more effectively.
The introduction of Performance Intelligence represents an important step in Serve Legal's mission to help businesses close the gap between policy and reality.
By continually investing in technology, data and innovation, Serve Legal is strengthening the way organisations understand operational performance, enabling them to make better informed decisions, identify efficiencies, reduce costs and deliver meaningful improvements more quickly.
Performance Intelligence is now a core component of the Serve Legal offering. The team is proud to see the investment of time, expertise and innovation behind its development delivering tangible benefits for clients and helping organisations unlock greater value from every audit and mystery shopping programme.
Existing clients will be contacted by their Client Manager with further information about the rollout and what it means for their programme.
