From Auditors to Directors: Two Serve Legal Success Stories
We’re delighted to announce that two members of our team, who originally joined Serve Legal as 18-year-old Auditors, have been promoted to the positions of Directors as of July 2023. Previously our Operations Manager, Seth Uden, and our Client and Sales Manager, Jenni Garratt, will now fulfil the exciting roles of Operations Director and Sales and Marketing Director, respectively. Serve Legal is proud to offer so many young people the first step on their career ladder, but our focus on learning and development does not stop there, as we support our talented people to progress through the business and take on new challenges.
Seth joined Serve Legal back in 2011 as an Auditor at university in Newcastle and then joined our ‘internal team’ in 2013. Since then, Seth has impressed us with his creative ideas, focus on people and drive to improve the way we do things, supporting him to progress through the roles of Area Manager, Regional Manager, Operations Manager and now Operations Director. Seth’s journey through Serve Legal, whilst operationally focused, has also allowed him to gain wider experience such as; securing new business and managing client accounts. This broad understanding of the business, combined with almost 10-years of service has made Seth a fountain of knowledge on all things Serve Legal and has supported his development as an important senior member of our team. Seth’s proudest achievements at Serve Legal have always been the progression and development of those around him, a great example being his righthand women Hannah, now a senior member of his team who was Seth’s first ‘super auditor’ when he began as Area Manager for Wales back in 2013.
Jenni’s Serve Legal ‘origin story’ was set in motion by Seth as she noticed an Auditor recruitment poster in her local area which Seth had asked his Dad to put up in his town! Intrigued by a role where 18-year-olds could get paid to travel around their area and test out the local pubs, Jenni signed up to be an Auditor in North Lincolnshire in 2014 and then joined our ‘internal team’ whilst at university in Nottingham in 2016. Jenni started her first full-time role with us in 2018, in a hybrid role supporting both the Ops and Commercial teams. Since then, Jenni has developed her skills in sales, marketing and client management, looking after some of our largest clients and securing exciting audit programmes with new customers. Jenni has enjoyed building up our amazing Client, Sales and Marketing team as well as working on special projects such are developing our Corporate and Social Responsibility Policy. Within 5 years of joining us full-time, Jenni has progressed from our Sales Executive to Client and Sales Manager and now Sales and Marketing Director.

Serve Legal has always seen the development of young talent as one of its highest priorities and greatest assets. Our incredible, nationwide Auditor community is our lifeblood and we’re thrilled to support so many of our young auditors into meaningful and exciting roles, particularly through the recent development of our Serve Legal Foundation which supports our people to access learning and development opportunities.
