International Youth Day: Inspiring Careers Through Work Experience at Serve Legal
This week we celebrated International Youth Day — a global celebration of young people’s potential, talent, and contribution to society. At Serve Legal, supporting and inspiring young people in the early stages of their careers is at the heart of what we do.
Empowering young people isn’t just part of our ethos — it’s in our DNA. Over 75% of our internal team started their careers with Serve Legal as auditors at the age of 18 — including four out of five members of our senior management team, who joined 10–15 years ago and have worked their way up to leadership. We’ve seen first-hand how, with the right support, young people can progress through the business to positions of great influence, shaping our direction and culture along the way.
This commitment was front and centre during our recent two-day online work experience event.
Over 21–22 July 2025, we welcomed 34 enthusiastic young participants from across the UK to explore the world of business with us. Guided by members of the Serve Legal team, attendees dived into interactive sessions covering everything from human resources, data, finance, and sales to marketing and operations — ensuring there was something for everyone, no matter their interests or aspirations.
The impact was clear. Almost every participant told us the experience not only met their expectations but gave them greater confidence about their future careers. Many described the sessions as informative, interactive, and enjoyable — and their enthusiasm shone through in every discussion.
We were genuinely impressed by the thoughtful contributions, insightful questions, and fresh perspectives that our young guests brought to the table. They didn’t just attend — they engaged, challenged ideas, and added value to every discussion.
As we celebrate International Youth Day, we’re proud to play our part in helping the next generation develop the skills, confidence, and networks they need to thrive.
