Celebrating 10,000 Audits with Serve Legal’s Most Dedicated Auditor

This month, Serve Legal is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone — auditor Vinh Banh has completed his 10,000th audit, making him the most prolific auditor in the company’s history.

Vinh’s journey with Serve Legal began back in 2016, when he spotted an advert at the University of Derby. Nine years later, he’s travelled across the UK — and even abroad — completing every type of audit imaginable with consistency, professionalism, and good humour.

“I remember my first audit like it was yesterday,” Vinh laughed. “It was a pub visit on the day of an Aston Villa game, and I messed it up completely. But I learned from it and never looked back.”

Since that first experience, Vinh has taken on thousands of assignments — from media compliance audits to gambling mystery shops, which he describes as his favourite type. “I enjoy the structure of those audits — taking photos of advertising boards and ensuring compliance. It’s interesting work that makes a difference for clients,” he says.

When asked what keeps him motivated after 10,000 visits, Vinh points to two key things: variety and flexibility. “No two audits are ever the same. I’ve worked everywhere from Glasgow to the Isle of Wight — even did a few audits in Limerick while on holiday. It fits perfectly around my 9–5 office job, and I can plan them around my own schedule.”

Vinh's most memorable audit included having to walk twenty minutes across a Welsh golf course to reach a rural pub and on the way over took a tumble along the way! He was totally fine though and still completed the rest of his batch!

After nearly a decade of experience, Vinh has plenty of wisdom to share. “Always read the brief carefully — even small changes matter. Check the site on Google Maps beforehand, plan your parking, and always have a good backstory ready. Being resilient, organised, and adaptable makes a huge difference.”

Vinh’s commitment hasn’t gone unnoticed. Dave, his Area Manager, has worked with him for years and says, “Vinh represents everything we value in our auditors — reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude. He’s seen Serve Legal evolve and has grown alongside us. Reaching 10,000 audits is an extraordinary achievement and a testament to his hard work.”

Looking ahead, Vinh isn’t slowing down. “Every 5,000 feels like a new goal — 15,000 next,” he says. “The work keeps changing, and that’s what I love about it. I think we’ll see more technology and AI come into auditing over the next few years, but the human element — good communication and observation — will always be essential.”
